Standards for 21st Centruy Teaching

Lately I've been spending a lot of time cuddled up with the ISTE NETS*T.    They are designed to promote quality use of technology in the classroom, ensure professional growth, and encourage high expectations for both teachers and students.  While they are geared toward technolgy use and integration they are great standards for teaching in general.   They also make me wonder when we are going to be able to stop talking about technology integration like it is an alien concept.  Technology is a part of the 21st Century. It's everywhere and it's not going away. Kids need to use it.  Shouldn't technology just be an unstated, expected, and regularly developed and revised part of instruction?  How do we get there?
