Vision

Vision without action is merely a dream.
Action without vision just passes the time.
Vision with action can change the world.
~Joel A. Barker

Recently I've had many conversations with many people about vision.  What is vision?  What my vision?  I guess before I can delve too deeply into this I first need to define "vision."  Funny, isn't it, how it's a word can seem so obviously defined in conversation but when it comes to putting it into writing it becomes a bit more difficult?

I've read several definitions of the word "vision" in many contexts.  What it all boils down to is this:  vision is is a goal.  It's the point we are shooting for, where we are trying to go, and a framework for planning.  It's an ending point so-to-speak.  Although, in education, there is never truly an ending point - but that's another subject.

With this in mind, I'll be working on getting my vision for technology in the Forest Area School District written down.

What's your vision?
